I missed a week or more of posting ,darn it.
The site was not working for me a couple of nights.
The rest I missed because of good things happening
for my sister. This sister and I met, again at 40something.

10 years my sister has been in need of a home.
She has been moving from place to place weekly/monthly,
and losing all she had.
Living with her grown children mostly, but it was a financial
hardship. She lived with us off and on in a very tiny house.
She was 1100 miles away most of the time.

Three years ago she moved to Colorado, where I am.
She just got into government housing. She should be
able to stay for 1 1/2 years then transfer to senior
housing. This is such a relief for her and all who care
about her. What a long road.

Here you enter a lottery to get affordable housing for
the poor, disabled and seniors. The restrictions are severe.
My sister won the first new draw in quite some time.
The economy improved a bit so there are a few openings.
100 people out of 6000 won a chance at finding an apartment
if they could do so in 2 weeks. You find apartments at the
lower end and the county approves or not and tells you what
percentage they can pay.

That is what I have been helping with, instead of posting.
I am exhausted but smiling.

We met 40 years later, after being seperated at age 5.
It seems so odd people back then believed we'd forget!
Neither knew where to find the other, we were told we were
wrong , another missing sister(twin)had never existed.
We both knew there was one, we both wondered, is *she dead?

We'll get to share our older years now.
It's a happy time for us!

It's sickening to me how children were treated until fairly recently really. I'm sorry you had to go through the loss of your sister under those circumstances. I'm glad to hear you've been reunited. I hope she can get her housing settled.

There seems to be no push to house homeless people in the US. Just move them around. Here one city wants to close down soup kitchens because they say they attract homeless people who are unwelcome in that city for any reason. It makes me sick. /rant.
