Since we are a few days away from "election day" I would like to say something about honor and respect towards the office of the President of the U.S.
President B.H.Obama has not been addressed respectfully by many of his peers or the press when discussing politics and official duties through out his term. This term he has been routinely addressed by his Last name only. He has often been referred to as Mr. Obama also.
I don't recall former presidents being called Mister. Actually I do recall once on a Sunday talk show , but it was quickly corrected along with an apology. Among senators ,judges, congress persons, serious press or any of the professional persons in his biz should be using the proper address!
Are the press ,using President ,seen as more impartial reporters of the facts ,or is it just my preference?
I referred to the former President as GW, Bush and once or twice ,shrub. Perhaps worse under my breath. But never Mr.
I have never heard it used with former Presidents. I don't like it. I think whom ever started Mr.,knows for sure what they are doing.
Maybe it's just I am sick of the election and just want it over!
Mr President is acceptable! Oh and Mrs President or Miss President. Wow ,now that will be the day!
Good Luck in your second term Mr President.
He is going to win!
