Bingers was about 4 years old when I got him. He had been declawed when I got him. He used the cat box when it was convenient, even when I kept the cat box sparkling. He liked to go around the cat box. I tried putting tinfoil around the cat box which made no difference. I used a covered cat box for a while, but he didn't like that much.

Other than some catbox confusion he was a good, responsive and cuddly kitty. He came when ever you called him. He was wary of strangers, but not hostile. I'd had Bingers for several years when I got Shel. Since Bingers was the original pet he was sort of the alpha pet even with out claws. Shel mostly left him alone. Not that they exactly got along. Occasionally Shel was chase Bingers around the house.

I have a couple of pictures of them that are very descriptive of their relationship. In both of them they are sitting in their respective pet beds on my bed. In one of them Bingers is looking toward the camera and Shel is looking at Bingers while licking his chops. In the other one Bingers is looking sort of distainfully at the dog while the dog gives Bingers a sidelong glance. They are both classic.

I had both pets for several more years before I moved to California with both of them. I took Bingers out first on an airplane. I'd planned to drive out with Shel and the Maryanne the guinea pig and didn't think there'd be room for Bingers and didn't think he'd travel well that way anyway. So I took him in the passenger compartment of the plane. I was moving in with my parents, but they had 2 or 3 cats already and I didn't want to move Bingers in there until I moved in there, so I had him stay with my brother who had no pets. I moved him out over Thanksgiving and I was planning my final move out there from MN in January.

Bingers didn't travel very well on the plane either and was very stiff and possibly injured when we arrived in Cal. If he complained on the plane it was so noisy you couldn't hear him at all. Poor thing. He recovered but he was never quite the same. He was getting up there in years by this time too. His cat box usage was more random than ever. Nature's Miracle was always available.
