Spent the day with my dad in the hospital getting him a new pacemaker. He's fine, the one he had just had a dead battery. It almost didn't happen because my dad didn't get the message that he wasn't supposed to eat 8 hours before the operation. Fortunately they were able to do it do it under heavy sedation rather than general anesthesia so it didn't matter so much that he'd eaten breakfast. It was a long boring day with lots of waiting around, but with the bonus of worrying about possible problems. I'm exhausted.

Hospitals are absolutely dire places at the best of times. It's mind-numbing, hanging around waiting, and my experience is that unless you're the actual patient, a lot of the time you're treated like you're in the way.
I'm not surprised you're exhausted. Well done for posting anyway.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
