Thanks, Lanza. Cycling is all I do. I did try to get back into running, but that was a half-hearted attempt. My bones are too old for it.

I think I am too old to learn to ride a bike properly. My excuse is the amount of steps between me and the place I could ride. Also the amount of people who zoom past clad in lycra on proper racing bikes is a bit disconcerting to those of us who are 'wobbly'.

How many steps would you need to manage? My bike is in the cellar, so I carry it up - or down, depending on whether I come or go.

72 upwards or approx 85 down to the beach road. My house is in a complex with loads of steps up to the road at the top, and even more down to the sea. Pros mean that it's really quiet ( no traffic ) cons mean I have to carry things a long way. Putting the rubbish out is a feat in itself.
Maybe I write about these steps! I used to go to a gym and pay to use a stepper machine. I have to carry water home from the shops as well, as the tap water isn't good to drink.

I'd like to sign up to make an entry in the July Challenge by way of the journal I started a couple of months ago: http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/brunel/F3011?thread=8292375 I'm not sure if it's eligible but it's an ongoing thing that I hope to keep up anyway. Deke

Are you interested in the Tour de France?
Not that I'm going to ride in it of course. But we shall be in France for a fortnight and might get a chance to see the riders flash past on the 20th stage.
Would you want a description? I couldn't post it until I get back, which probably means August. I keep on missing your deadlines...

Even if its too long for most or not convenient or whatever, it sounds like a totally cool place to go cycling.

Can I submit a Scottish Dance wot I invented? I'm not sure how easy it would be to describe in words, though.
PR or Post? (I do have a dancing series in The Post that I could revive)
