Magazines in the early 20th Century were full of tips on how to eradicate freckles with ordinary household stuff, like lemon juice.
It was all that anti-Irish sentiment. It boiled over into an anti-freckle campaign, is what I think.

Yes! Freckles are lovely. Funny word, freckle. I wonder about its origins.
I have a true story from my life and times, concerning a lately departed relative, a love letter, and the nickname Freckles, but I have not the right to tell it, so that's the end of that then.
But wait! wait! I must leap to my feet and add , for I am a groupie, I follow the Tune in June Band accross the world! Front row seats every night. heheh.
Now I have to follow them backstage and ask for all their autographs.
