Hitting a link on an old personal space of mine A30414494 to http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/brunel/F103872?thread=941084 from brunel it works fine, but from Pliny, I was directed to http://h2g2.com/h2g2/forum/103872/thread/941084 I thought this page had been retired. Its tone is just too unpleasantly confrontational: nobody is pleased to be told 'You could have just typed utter rubbish in to see what happened'.

It was retired, or rather nothing should be pointing to it anymore.

I think there's something weird going on though, because your entire post doesn't show up in Goo.

Which link on your homepage is it? They all seem to work for me.

I have been seeing the bins page quite regularly as well these days, and was a bit puzzled because I wondered where the nice picture of trees had gone (but strangely not puzzled enough to comment).

I clicked the link in The Post to the Forum, though, and received a similar message about typing rubbish, but the picture was of Noel Edmonds, so I didn't mind that

The link in the post is malformed, but I could do with knowing where the original error is coming from.

I see the bins when I click on Recumbentman's homepage link The Ballad of Grimley Moer as well as the link on 'here' just above it (which is the link in the original post of this thread).

I'm using the dreaded IE8, if that makes any difference...

There's an extra /h2g2 in the link that doesn't need/want to be there. Is that in the code?

The links are in the format F14307591?thread=8305274 which worked in Ripley skins and old Pliny in November 2013 (for NaJoPoMo!)

Prior to that there's an extra /h2g2/ in the url. I'd need Recumbentman to look at his code and let me know if he's put it in, or if the system has.

Hmm... The link above is working, whereas when I clicked on it via the Entry page A87803535 it sent me to the bins.
