I have left them an invitation to join in with this Challenge. I should point out that they will earn a little 'Create' badge for their space shouldn't I?

Indeed. Not sure how I have managed never to write one thus far.

Until early this morning!

The early sunrise
Pours sunlight through the window
And the baby cries

Which perfectly epitomizes this time of early spring for me, even if the actual clock change was in March. I am not sure if I have a qualifying season word/ phrase there though.

I'm not that keen on haiku as a poetic form, but I've run some together in a group, to form a description of a walk we completed on Good Friday.

I don't think they all fulfil the nature-in-spring requirement, so I'm probably cheating smiley - evilgrin.

SEVEN SISTERS WALK

We join the trippers
walking down the concrete path
towards cliffs and sea.

Little egret stands
in bridal white, in shallows
fringing a blue lake.

The sea breathes softly
on banks of shifting shingle
dotted with sea kale.

The cliffs soar upwards.
A path zig-zags white on green,
we toil up the slope.

Violets open
half-hidden in downland turf,
a hint of purple.

The gorse glows golden
and little birds flick their tails
on the topmost spikes.

Birling Gap cottage
teeters close to the cliff edge.
The sea waits beneath.

In Friston Forest
beeches stand grey and leafless
but hawthorns froth green.

The climb from West Dean
seems a line of steps too far
'til we reach the top.

Below, the Cuckmere
winds a shining blue ribbon,
dazzle of water.

Back in the car park
we take off our boots and rest,
end of a good walk.

Oh, that's interesting. I like the way doing it as a haiku gives a series of static flashbacks. Hmmmm. We've just been on holiday to Wales. I wonder if I should rise to your example and see if I can do a haiku series for the week...
