A Conversation for 24 Lies a Second
Sirius - and other actors

Sirius is NOT Stephen Fry.
And I think they're going to have to cast an unknown (as long as it's a good one) because the closest we can get with actual well-known people is Ralph Fiennes.
Quick explanation here, for the unobsessed (in the order they were mentioned):
Maggie Smith = McGonagall
Richard Griffiths = Uncle Vernon
Julie Walters = Mrs Weasley
Richard Harris = Dumbledore
Mark Williams = Mr Weasley (why is he the bloke off the Fast Show? it confuses me)
Miriam Margolyes = Prof Sprout
Jason Isaacs = Lucius Malfoy (with elf hair)
Robert Hardy = Cornelius Fudge
Julian Glover = Aragog (no, not in a big spider suit)
Shirley Henderson = Moaning Myrtle
Robbie Coltrane = Hagrid
Alan Rickman = Snape (<yay>
Christian Coulson = Tom Riddle (nudge nudge, he's cute)

y'never know - Fiennes has just done a film with J.Lo, surely he could be persuaded that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a step up?

Catwoman Posted Nov 21, 2002
Definitely a big leap up in terms of quality of co-stars.

*balances Daniel Radcliffe on scales opposite J.Lo*
*scales tip, slightly*
yep - he doesn't come off too badly!

*was thinking of Maggie Smith etc, Alan Rickman (I love him), y'know, the cool people*

I know, you want to see him in the film (whereas in the book you just wanted him to go away, as soon as possible)

I do have different reactions to the characters in the films than in the books though - I find film Percy far less infuriating, and film Snape more likeable (he's always fascinating, but in the books it's in the hating way...)

True.
I love Hermione anywhere though.
And there should be more of the Weasley twins.

I don't really like movie-Hermione too much.
Well - she emphasises to me why Ron really is my favourite

'twas a Fred and George line, when Harry is thought to be the Heir of Slytherin.

Gred and Forge, lovely.
I don't believe they gave away the Marauder's Map though. (It is useful for the kids to have it, but why would they not keep it?)

well, I guess they knew all the passages, and were willing to take their chances with detentions!
Plus, it's a nice Christmas gesture to Harry.

Catwoman Posted Nov 26, 2002
Yeah, nice xmas gift all right. (I want one for christmas)
(and a castle)
(and a godfather who can turn into a dog)
(and an invisibility cloak)
(and a knife that can cut through worlds)
(oops, and a mind that can keep on the same subject for more than 5 seconds)

and an elven dagger that glows,
and a mithril vest
and a bow and arrow
and some lembas (gotta be better for you than Quality Street)

Catwoman Posted Nov 27, 2002
Lembas? Think of the calories. (I saw FotR with lembas in it!)
is nice, anyway.
(I wouldn't mind being descended from an elf or two, and a maiar, so then I'd live for a very long time)

and have really long straight hair (always wanted that - probably since mine won't do it, not nohow...)
Bets against Stephen Fry
Catwoman Posted Nov 27, 2002
*is aiming for fairy princess hair at this very moment, but not the straight kind, due to having hair that doesn't know what the word straight means*

mine doesn't curl prettily either... and now it's in the shaggy growing out phase
*pulls face in mirror*
