Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

yeah, uni halls are great for that - I had such speed for two years!

but I love being in a house... if I get sick of our slow connection I can still go to the library

being in a house is great - can cook all sorts of nice things... though the fact we're running out of baking powder is alarming

Post 29

Catwoman

Running out of baking powder? Weird people. Why do you have it in the first place?

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 30

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

for cake making... we're good at it!
(well, two of the five of us)

reminds me... we have over-ripe bananas - time to bake again!

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 31

Catwoman

No, instead make a slit along the side, insert some squares of smiley - choc, warp in tinfoil and put on barbecue/in over for a bit until choc is melted and banana is mushy.

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 32

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

yeah, that is good.
but now I have chocolate banana cake

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 33

Catwoman

Mmm, banana cake. Mmmm, chocolate cake.

*wonders at the possibilities*

Post 34

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

experimentation is goood... there was cinnamon in there too

not much left now of course.

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 35

Catwoman

Mmm, cinnamon.
*wishes could have some way of plugging cake into computer so could taste*

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 36

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

I would post it, but it'd probably taste like cardboard by the time it got there!

Post 37

probably more productive to work on the technology of transmitting taste.

Post 38

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

...or could just send a recipe!

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 39

Catwoman

What, and me would be able to make nice cake? Wow.
But that would mean giving away secret recipie...

Bets against Stephen Fry

Post 40

Swiv (decrepit postgrad)

...or not so secret!

8oz flour
4oz butter
mix together with your fingers till it looks like breadcrumbs
4oz sugar
couple of teaspoons of cinnamon
couple of mashed bananas
couple of whisked eggs
mix up
pour into greased loaf tin
bake at GM 4/5 for about an hour and a half

for chocolate variety, take out cinnamon and a couple of oz of flour and replace with cocoa.

voila

can't believe I just wrote all that.
