The h2g2 Christmas Tree 2011

2 Conversations

In the very centre of h2g2 (wherever that actually is) a fir tree stands.

It is a pretty large tree, very green, very verdant, not looking at all as if the needles would drop before the end of the month at all.

The smell is pretty potent too. Breathing it in transports you to a snowbound forest with wolves howling in the distance.

And now it has also been decorated. Just in time for Christmas!

Bluebottle has provided the traditional star for the top of the tree.

But for those who are adamant that only an angel will do, Hati has the answer.

To celebrate the tree's wild beginnings, Nick has shared a prized 50th birthday present.

No tree is complete without an ornament to entice Father Christmas to call, and Candi has not failed us there.

Minichessmouse's bauble is one of many that she made whilst researching this entry with her cub scouts.

An entry which inspired Solnushka's three-year-old.

Dr Anthea's son reminds us that the origins of Christmas are older than they might seem.

The trunk of the tree has been cheered up by Tavaron.

And around the tree we find Agapanthus' masterful take on the Christmas story - the prawntivity.

Continuing the edible decorations theme, Kelli and her boys have been following this advice for gingerbread house making.

Every tree has got to have lights, and luckily Happy Nerd can help.

Happy Christmas!
