Hi Mol,

Most certainly, I've handed it over to your account in entirety - but if there is any help you need, please ask.

Good luck!

Lanzababy.

smiley - smiley hi

It would make sense to move the bit where ou roll out the dough before the bit where the parts get cut out I think.

Right, yes, done that, thank you, you're right. I've also made some tweaks to phrasing and punctuation. I think the style is quite smiley - erm casual but if that's acceptable, I'm now OK with the wording (if it's not OK I'll re-write it completely, as it was originally a post not an entry; but I'd have to do it in notepad and cut'n'paste it as the GuideML is doing my head in).

The only thing I'd like to change now is to add a space between each bullet point, so that the text is more spread out - at the moment it's a lot of text, not very broken up, and I think that's quite intimidating on the eye. I really don't know how to do that, sorry.

And next I need to find a photo. There isn't one on this laptop or on my phone so this will involve firing up another computer. And I'm really sorry but smiley - erm I've got a load of gingerbread to make ...

Hi Mol

Good news on the photograph front - kelli followed these instructions and has made the most fabulous house, decorated it with help from her children and sent us some photos, one of which has been accepted by the Artists as being suitable to use to illustrate this Entry.

So, if you're happy, I can make the changes to the formatting.

The style is fine, it makes perfect sense to the reader, as evidenced by kelli's success smiley - biggrin

ps, please send any photos that you think would be suitable, as we can have more than one. But don't go to too much time and trouble over it. We could even add it later, there is no problem with doing that.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

smiley - smiley Thank *you* for being the midwife ... It would probably be easiest for me to photo this year's on Christmas Eve and email it straight from my phone, tbh, so I'll do that.

I formatted it a bit more for you mol, and added a sentence of introduction

here is the finished thing. Let me know if there is anything you see amiss and I'll fix it.

smiley - blush Wow, that looks like a proper entry smiley - smiley

The only change I think it needs is about freezing in advance - I froze in early November one year so it can be done several weeks ahead, three is a bit arbitrary and only really applied in the original post.

How wonderful, and with my photo!

Mol didn't mention the *really* hard part - keeping little fingers and teeth away from the finished house until smashing-up time smiley - biggrin

smiley - laugh It takes about ten years of training to do that ... Once they've experienced the smashing up, though, they can be reminded of how fun that bit is and that helps.

Your gingerbread house looks fantastic, v impressed.

smiley - rolleyes Right, well now I've actually made my own for this year I've remembered other useful stuff. I should have made notes really. My house is now assembled and I've just got to work out when I'll do the piping ...
