Just as well he's got Alexander then, who despite a bye week has still scored more points than the entire Baltimore and Miami offences combined...

Sorry, I couldn't help laughing.
DD looking forward to playing the Warpigs 'cos they might not have a QB. Who does he pick in that position himself?
Brad Johnson..... demoted to third string QB for the Saints game.
Not nice to laugh at other's misfortune - but I couldn't help it!

Damn. Just checked my fantasy leagues..
I'm doing pretty well in my Tigers' league, however, this week I stepped in against the number one team in the league.
I managed to rack up 170 points in the game, mostly because of Daunte Culpepper (77 points) and a few double-digit defensive players scores.
Only problem is that my opponent scored 171.5 points...
Had I played anyone else this week, I would've beaten them by at least 15 points, but instead I faced the league leader who edged me out for my second consecutive loss...

Mind you Wildman I was there when Brad was benched during his last Moonarch's game. Not surprising he didn't show at the after game party.

Aarrgh! Beaten by a garbage-time touchdown by the backup QB on Monday Night!
An epic battle, fought to the end. Well done, Jimi.

I was tracking it live. In our league I was trailing by 6 after Sunday's action with Brown against Walker to play. In my other league I was trailing by 5 with Brown and Walker against McNair. So around the end of the 3rd quarter I built myself a little spreadsheet to calculate the results of those two games and kept updating the stats as the plays rolled in. I had both games won until Nall started chucking passes to Walker. As they got in close I was repeating a mantra of "just don't give it to Walker." I actually felt good about them being on the 1-yard line, because I thought they would run it in or chuck it to Franks.
Just when I was feeling good about it, they threw it to Walker. Dammit.
That's why I love fantasy football... huge emotional investment in a game I ordinarily wouldn't have given a crap about. And that's especially important in the opening season of the cover-your-eyes era in Dolphins history.

I notice it is the battle of the 100s next week. Eh Jimi?

Looking forward to it DD.
Though I was treated very kindly in the draft so I can't really brag at all about the performance of the X-men. I *never* thought I'd get both Priest and The Edge!

What an interesting week in the league:
1) The seemingly invincible X-men got vinced! Actually, you should feel good about this one. Last year in my other league I upset our team that was undefeated late in the season, and he thanked me for it. He said he'd never had a team make it undefeated through the regular season that didn't get killed in the first round of the playoffs. He later returned the favor by whooping me in the final.
2) A tie! I bet Sharkie wishes Gardner hadn't run backwards for 10 yards, or that he'd found a replacement for Franks (bye) to catch one ball, or that Jones had been able to play a few downs. I bet Wildman wishes Staley had managed to play a few downs.
3) The Penketh Patriots rolled to victory due in no small part to a touchdown pass - by the kicker!
Hey, I have to get excited about everyone else's games... I had Easy Pickings. BTW, their QB, Quincy Carter, suddenly found himself valuable, so he has now been added to the free agent pool.

You're going to see a whole lot more losses for the X-men too. They peaked far too early in the season I'm afraid...

A great week for the Budgies ... 179 points and that was leaving Jerry Porter (37 points) on the bench. We'd have scored 212 with the strongest team out (assuming Favre doesn't better Mannings 236yds / 6TDs).
And who were we playing ... Easy 'Bloody' Pickings. Outscored them by 166 points. Is that a record, Norris?

The Mugwumps laid an egg this week... Saturday night the reports said Brown was ready to play Sunday, and I totally blew the defensive pick. Luckily my opponent had an even worse week. But it's not good to be limping towards the playoffs.

And cheer up, BBS... with your win and my victory over DD (pending), you're in the playoff picture.

It's been a strong late season surge and the last 2 games are against teams with a combined 3 victories - so they should be wins unless it is suddenly decided to start playing Michael Vick instead of Marc Bulger!
In all honesty though I never seem to pick my strongest team. What's the secret? Have a crap bench so your starters always look good?

I usually do a better job than I did this week. I just have three simple rules:
1) Healthy studs play no matter what. If Manning is up against Baltimore and the league rules they can put 13 defenders on the field, he still plays.
2) Healthy non-studs play the better matchup. An RB against Indy will get the start against one playing Buffalo.
3) Stay on top of injury reports.

And you still only sneaked out a 5 point win only because my kicker went from questionable to not playing once the match kicked off.

OK, I've finally managed to get to the computer for long enough to update the League A2998911
The situation is getting interesting.
With 2 games left in the regular FANTASY season, Jimmy and I have definitely booked our places in the Championship Play-offs.
Blathers is a red-hot favourite for one of the other places (none of the others can pass him and even if he lost both his remaining games he's still got a cushion of over 230 in the total points column).
So this means that realistically, Budgies, Drawers and Brasilians are fighting for the last place in the play-offs for Hootoo Superbowl II.
