A Conversation for Talking Point: Your worst day at work ever

I could still see two of everything...

...when I walked into my advertising telesales job still steaming from the night before, dishevelled and moaning, about half an hour late and got sent see my sales manager, who wanted to "have a quick word" about my lateness.
So up I went, staggered into his little goldfish bowl office and received one of his ridiculous "mano a mano" motivational chats. Seriously, he WAS David Brent, silly cheesy overenthusiastic idiot with severe "little man syndrome" who didn't realise everyone had names and impressions for him, the lot. He especially had it in for me, Christ only knows why. Halfway through, he goes;
"AND! One person in this room stinks of alchohol, and it's not me."
Well, there were only two of us in there, and I thought it was one of his pathetic little "I'm one of the lads too, I had 10 pints of lager and puked everywhere last night. You know why? Cos I'm a BLOKE. LIKE YOU" jokes, and it was the first one he'd ever said that I found funny, so I laughed. Loud. It was only when I stopped, wiping the tears away, 5 minutes later, that I realised he wasn't. And he was angry. He blew up and gave me a good old bollocking (the entire editorial team watching) and sent me home to "shower, change and just sort yourself out".
I made a quick decision, said "Right-ho"
So I went home, sorted myself out, went to an interview, for a job for more money, and went back to the pub for the rest of the day.
