Hmm. I'm left wondering what the target audience is supposed to be; the brief description of the genre in the first section gives it the feel of a primer for people with no prior acquaintance with the genre, but I wonder whether such a specific topic is appropriate for such an audience. The first section as it is seems to exist entirely to underpin the second, which as the main meat of an Entry is quite brief. Possibly this would work better as part of a more general introduction to the genre; have you perhaps any interest in expanding the first section and making the Entry more of a general purpose introduction?
Anyway, that aside, I quite like this; it makes me wonder what sort of macabre haunted house set-up one might create for an 'extreme' version.

enery --> energy
I think the current revision is in some danger of falling between two stools, not being a full-blooded intro to the genre but adding quite a lot of explanatory material to the main thrust. And so I'm still not sure what sort of intended audience you envisage.

What sort of audience is envisaged? Those who enjoy suvival horror games and would like to get more from them! It's not intended to be a full blooded introduction to the genre..

In which case 'Setting the Scene' would appear to be the only section needed, those who enjoy the games already being in possession of general background knowledge about them.

Most entries have 'some' introduction to the subject, however brief..

Looks good to me, but a couple of small things:
"playing in the dark is highly recommended most fans."
->
"playing in the dark is highly recommended by most fans."
"In the flickering light of the television" - it could be a PC game, maybe even a handheld. I've got Doom on the GameBoy advance - which is a simlar sort of game.
"So youve got the feel right,"

Perhaps actaully some of the more famous titles?
Imagine if you will -
"hmm, this looks interesting. Oh, what a great Entry! hmm, it's given me a hankering to go out and play some horror games, but I don't really know what any are called!"
Here's a few;
Resident Evil - one through a hundred and eighty seven.
The Silent Hill trilogy in seventeen parts.
Alone in the Dark
The Suffering
House of the Dead
Evil Dead - A Fistful of Boomstick (my personal fave )
MJ

I did have a longer intro with some of the games mentioned but was told it was unnecessary and confuse the entry..

What I said was that if you were aiming the Entry at people already familiar with the genre, then only the middle section was necessary; whether it actually is a good idea to aim it at that audience is another matter. My criticism was that the Entry seemed to be aimed partly at people with no knowledge of the genre whatsoever (who wouldn't have acquired much from this Entry) and partly at people with sufficient familiarity to profit from a pretty specific Entry (who would already know the background stuff). When I asked who the intended audience was this is what I got:

'What sort of audience is envisaged? Those who enjoy suvival horror games and would like to get more from them! It's not intended to be a full blooded introduction to the genre..'
So, the author's intended audience already has some familiarity with survival horror games; MJ presumably envisages an entirely different audience.
...
Isn't House of the Dead a lightgun arcade game (or conversion)? Stylistically survival horror, but quite different from R.E. (spinoffs excepted), etc.

House of the Dead was originally an arcade light gun game, but House of the Dead II was available for the Sega Dreamcast, and now House of the Dead III can be played on the X-Box.
So I guess Sereph, you need to set your target on your audience
Bang! Bang! ARGH!

Like I said: 'a lightgun arcade game (or conversion)'. The point being, gameplay-wise it's closer to Time Crisis, etc. than to Resident Evil (excepting spin-offs), Silent Hill, etc.

True, but it's still got some genuine scary moments and played in the right environment you can pretend to be Bruce and love every minute of it
(Fun Party game at Halloween for instance)
