I hope you won't think I'm insulting the H2G2 artists for only giving four stars because I wanted more illustrations. I love what the artists do. I just love illustrations a lot.

I bought it on Amazon US (by mistake), and reviewed it on Amazon UK. I expect I can copy my review onto the US site?

But I don't want to have them feel overworked. I know there aren't enough artists here, and regretfully I would be hopeless if I tried to join their number.
My only connection to art is landscaping with trees, shrubs, and flowers. And it's always a work in progress.

There aren't any reviews on amazon.de either - I had to force my pc to go to amazon uk. So far, only people from h2g2 have reviewed. In fact, only people on this thread, as far as I can tell.
I shall be ordering soon, I promise.

My copy arrived! It's very nice.
It's interesting that for writing in books, the paragraphs should be bigger. Short paragraphs and lots of them is better for web pages.

Baron Grim Posted Nov 29, 2017
In newspapers each "paragraph" is typically only 1-2 sentences.
Paragraphs act more as visual cues than subject containers.

If it’s still of any interest, the copy that just landed in my letter box was “Printed in Germany by Amazon Distribution GmbH, Leipzig” – yes, it was bought from amazon.de.
Listed price € 28,89, which when sent to Switzerland is reduced to € 27,00 (no Mehrwertsteuer in Germany and too little for the Swiss to add it.) Also having a promo code, I ended paying “only” € 22,00.
Like Recumbentmans copy *and* the one on “Look Inside” on all the amazons, .de, .com, .co.uk, this one lacks page numbers on the table of contents. (Well, It has page numbers for the table of contents pages themselves, but not for the pages shown in the table of contents – that’s surely what Recumbentman rightly found odd(?))

Thank you for that information! I am so delighted that h2g2 has been printed in historic Leipzig.
The critique about the page numbers has been taken to heart. Technical matters have been attended to. The next book will have reliable page numbers on its contents pages.

I bought two copies the other day. One as a birthday present for my son, who would understand it, and one for myself, which I am looking forward to showing off. "I know all these people!"

My copy disappeared at my family's Boxing Day party but as my son has been talking about it to anyone who will listen and how his mother is a great writer I can only assume he will not want to part with it so I'll be buying another copy soon

My second copy has arrived, but I am going to donate it to my astronomy club for their library, as so many have expressed an interest in it, hopefully that will generate more sales once they've had a taster.
