Shall I copy the text from post 38 ( the instructions) onto the H2G2 Future Guide Editors Personal Space?
It might make it easier for folk to find, should this thread get busier.

I'd like to volunteer as a Sub Ed and Scout.
I haven't been subbing much or writing much lately due to all the question marks hanging over the site. I'd like to get stuck in again when we're up and running!

Ok, I've registered at Noesis as broelan. You can put me down for Scouts definitely, and Subs if it's an "only what you can handle" workload.

There's no reason to wait until we're at the new site to get writing, we're going to need good quality writing to publish on the front page from day 1 of the new h2g2. So that'll mean that we need a constant stream of entries submitted in Peer Review, reviewed by willing scouts and subbed and ready to go.
I can see why you wouldn't want to submit to PR until the future of the site is secure - but it is secure now - and we need writing....

Just a quick reminder, if you want to sign up as a drop an email to Vip. Her email address is in the thread for Editorial volunteers.

Thanks Ben, but I think it's possible you may mean the Community Volunteers thread . Unless I've missed it.

Ben was asking people who want to sign up for the Moderators forum to email Vip rather than posting onsite here.

Yes please. At the moment it hasn't been decided whether the names of the moderators will be public or not, so I would rather keep it all off of h2g2 until a decision has been made.
Thanks,
Vip

Great Good stuff!
Can I ask that all volunteers who want to help the Editorial Team, direct themselves to the forum where the future shape of The Guide is taking place?

I'd like to help with the EG stuff, but don't feel like I can be a Formal Volunteer at this stage. Can I still join the group?

Yes, sorry everyone, I'm obviously getting less and less clear
When you sign up for noesis, you will eventually be allocated permission to join the relevant forums, ie Editorial Volunteers (there are others such as Community and so on) It won't happen immediately, as someone will have to manually add you to the forum, so be patient.
There is a thread in there which is important
for the lack of clarity.
Key: Complain about this post
