I used to enjoy that pub, and the Brittania, when I used to leave the Quarterdeck, after Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme meetings. Under age of course, and right next door to Margi' Nick. Even did my Silver Service award at the Nick, and still drank there with the Rozzers, and they weren't bothered.

Oh, happy days.
Won't mention the Coxswain or the Ace of Clubs though....

You're right, best not mention the Coxswain. I'm not familiar with The Ace Of Clubs.

I *think* I played at The Brit, but I'm not sure. Isn't that shocking?

I've updated the entry a bit and will sort it out a bit tomorrow. Sleep beckons.

Yeah. I got sidetracked (and where'd that backlog come from?)

I'll probably be in Fannit from the Friday. Which Friday is open to debate...

I just had a thought. Many people have said how great Butlins was, perhaps we could be a bit more adventurous and plan a whole weekend. As most London meets end up with some people staying at various flats to Sunday we could possibly book a few rooms in a B&B and do a Friday - Sunday thing, with the pub crawl on the Saturday for those can only do one day.

Is that a ridiculous idea?

(the backlog was my faultsmiley - blushsmiley - sorry

It's it any help, I'm only up the road from Broardstairs...floorspace can be provided for up to 6 I think it's thats any help to anyone.

Bring your own sleeping bags though!

I don't think it's a ridiculous idea atall - probably too energetic for me... but if the B&B falls through I don't mind lending out a bit of floor space.

smiley - coolsmiley - cheers We'll have to see how much interest there is. The B&B thing was for debauchery continuity (it's always a shame that meets are so short!) but I have a tendency to forget that most people don't do 'lost weekends'!

Yep, I'm up for a drinkie in Fannit.

No prob - the offers there if it's needed...

The living room can (and has done before now) sleep about 10. You don't get that much debauchery in Hernia Baysmiley - sadface

My only experience of Hernia Bay was a few pub gigs at The Druids Head in the early 90s. That was enough, thank you!smiley - biggrin

I've a mate in Broadstairs who might be able to put people up but he's not a HooTooer so that'd be a bit odd.

I doubt if many people will be up for it, so your floor might well be commandeered.smiley - cheers We'll see how it pans out.

I could well be up for it depending on the decided date smiley - biggrin

I will of course drag Ged along and Genie if possible.
