Zork; an LOTR spoof?

Of course the White House is all that's left of Flatheadia (zork zero) but what of the mysterious person refered to in the Classifieds ad in the New Zork Times known as Ellron? (was that a typo for the elven-person Eldrond from "Lord of the Rings"?) Was he, or maybe was the DM, the person who shuts the trapdoor on you several times? And was the glowing blue sword actually Frodo's sword Sting from LOTR?

There are several spoofs of LOTR already in the Zork Universe which I've seen refered to in the Encyclopedia Frobozzica, but haven't played to yet, such as Borphee and Pheebor, which are obvious spoofs of the river Bree on the LOTR map. How many LOTR spoofs can you people count?
