I was wathing a TV Programme yesterday about the Titanic and her sister ships the Olympic and Britannic, the Olympic was the first, Titanic the middle and Britannic the youngest, all of them met with disaster ( I think, I missed the the bit about the Olyminc ), anyway 1 woman was working on all three of them, Violet ( can't remember what her surname was ) was a Stewardess on the Olympic and Titanic and a nurse on the Britannic ( which was used as a hospital ship in WW1 ), the Britannic was torpeadoed or mined in the Med off one of the Greek Islands, we all know what happened to the Titanic, if anyone out there knows what happened to the Olympic I'd be most grateful. Basically if I'd seen that woman on any ship I'd be off so quick you wouldn't se me for dust, also would you travel in a ship that was the exact replica of the Titanic.
Thanks for listening to me waffle

Hi Reefgirl,
I got the following RMS OLYMPIC info from:
http://www.ian.gater.btinternet.co.uk/olympic.htm
There are links from the above page to pages on the Titanic and Britannic (but I've not looked at them yet).
RMS Olympic's maiden voyage was from Southampton on 14/6/1911. 3 months later she was in collision with HMS HAWKE and sustained damage below the waterline. She was repaired in Belfast and returned to service later that year.
During WW1 Olympic saw service as a troop carrier and after the war returned to the UK - New York .
Olympic was the only one of the 3 ships to see New York. After 24 years of service Olympic was broken up in Jarrow in 1935 .
Britannic was originally to be named Gigantic.
