A Conversation for Talking Point: Coincidences

... it's "Dark Side of the Moon" that was first suggested to synchronize very well with "The Wizard of Oz." I've heard any number of other "synchronicities," and they are all absurd-sounding to me - with one exception.
Pink Floyd's 1971 album, "Meddle," has a great long epic song (24 min or so) on the second side, called "Echoes." This song provides a fascinating "alternate score" to the "Jupiter and Beyond" sequence of Arthur C. Clarke's and Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey." To make this a REALLY good coincidence, it was known back in '68 that Roger Waters (he of Pink Floyd fame) wanted to score the film "2001: A Space Odyssey" very much, as apparently was reported in the local press at the time. Obviously, Kubrick had other ideas about the music and used some excellently moving and abstract classical pieces to great effect. But still, to my mind, that's exactly what a coincidence is: the occurence of two things by chance that seem to have been planned or predestined.
