Somehow I feel it would be more strange if coincidences didn't happen.
But considering the length & minutiae of our lives, more coincidences don't happen than do, if you see what I mean. We take notice when they do happen because they are unusual.

what is unusual about, shall we say, going into a pub the same time as your boy/girl friend? Nothing arranged, just pure choice, dictated by other random factors. No such thing as coincidence!!!

I don't think that you can really use going into a pub at the same time as b/g/friend as a coincidence ... the odds of the two of you knowing/frequenting certain pubs will be very high ..
I once met an ex-boyfriend in a pub - on the other side of the country. What was even stranger is that my new boyfriend was a guy that he met while they were both on holiday in America
It's a cliche .. but i'ts a small world!
