Ok, great, we can definitely talk about that. smiley - smiley
I want to explain why I wrote it that way (but I welcome all suggestions to make it work better):

I think in this case there really is a difference between photos and other kinds of arts. A photo can be done much faster than a picture you draw in photoshop for example. I imagine that if somebody works on a picture in photoshop for maybe a week and the next day somebody comes and says 'I did it much better' and also submits a picture this could make the first submitter feel angry/sad whatever. I guess you know what I mean. Although in the end the picture may be better it seems like disrespecting other people's work.

In the case of photos this is different. The person taking the picture probably had it on their computer for years already or just took it within a few minutes. If someone else submits a different picture not much work is lost.

I don't know how to solve that problem.

I wonder if we could do a deal with Google to use Google Maps?

I had the same idea Ben. I wonder what they would want for it.

I think i use google maps on my own personal website and I don't think it costs money,
however you never know on the scale we're talking about

We could have entries with a main picture and extra photos available in a slideshow presentation.smiley - smiley

Not sure I like the "feeling sad" argument. In that case, we couldn't ask authors to improve their pieces, either.

Ok, good. I have no problem with that. Then we let everyone submit pictures to everything, no matter if anyone else already put work into it. We can have all pictures submitted for one Entry in one 'folder' and a thread attached.

Does anyone have ideas about what would be a good standard picture size (to be used in landscape and portrait)?
What is the new one we have at the moment? Is it good? Should we just keep it?

What ever size we choose (unless square) can we use both landscape and portrait as some subjects would be better in portrait.smiley - smiley
