Its much easier to do and a good way just to see the basics.
Then you can figure out the rest lol

So how do we do searches

This skin is ok for convos but I don't like it.Its worse than Alabaster but slightly better than brunel but not a patch on goo.

Who came up with the background color

A too depressed Paladin.But if I go back to goo i won't be able to access the other convos a very depressing thought.

as for the skin i have replied to you in another thread... the background colour is due to the digibox' rendition of it... not the programmers' decision...

well iv been searching for things using collective. well so far iv been searching for news sotries really and not articles yet. is that a good place to search then? also got a prob i thought id beta mention it to u and not manda cus ur the master of digibox hee! hee! wen ur on ur front page if u go into one of the listings on the right hand side for example something in life. wen u try and go into one of them it gives u error messages all the time. U hav to click on one of them to go to the next page where it says how many members theyve got. am i explaining it right? well its on that page if u try and click on them they never work. is it cus of the plain skin were using or not?
so many questions just not enough hours in the day

you can ask paladin, she is the one who told me when she found it at the time... hehe...

as for what you said, collective is ok for finding out infos/reviews on movies/music etc...
360 is also an interesting site for certain issues...

accessing the guide by clicking on the index seems to be difficult for digibox... i usually type the keyword i'm interested in the search box for that...

of course, at the mo' there is no search box on plain [this skin being a prototype launched early as a favour to us...] but there are alternative ways to do so, either by adding a search link [or clicking on the search link on someone's space where it has been added...]
or, searching for the keyword through 360's search box... it will list 360 entries related to what you're searching first of course but after that there will be h2g2 entries too...

well thanks for the info on that. so how do i put the search box on my personal space then? dont tell me theres a very long code for it LOL im gonna hav to go to the library to copy n paste the pic codes cus ill only make mistakes i usually do!
hav u ever found the searching not quite working proerly? i searched for 'jewellery shops' and the second or third on the list was best kebab shops in the world LOL doesnt it like u searching on two words then? or does it put both words in the search? either way its not very helpful

hehe... i once searched for loup dargent and found some entries about a place in canada having "loup" in its name and a former researcher called saint dargent...

typing one keyword only is a good idea...

the searchlink needs to be added to my personal space but it will be asap..
[it's on my testpage but i can't remember the number right now...]

Loup we still have a problem with some convo threads.I was in goo and i tried to access a convo and the box crashed so i came back in and switched to plain and tried again and the box crashed yet again.So There are a few bugs in plain too.

i had this problem with the "poems in motion" thread... tho' i'm not surprised with the number of smileys that were in every posts on that page... memory is needed to download a normal number of smileys... so imagine how much memory is needed for downloading 100s of smileys concentrated on one page of conversation...

if you tell me the others i will check... that was the only one i had problems with...
remember we had problems even with the 360 link accessing some entries at some times... so i wonder if it's also influenced by the number of researchers using the site at the same time... that was happening a lot on LD... busier times meant more booting in chat...
obviously we will have to keep notes to see if there is a pattern there too...

at the mo' as far as i've noticed i have less problems posting messages on here than on LD.. and technically the digibox is supposed to be more adequate for lD than here...

but i would sure advise not to overdo it with smileys... the amount of memory needed to download that particular conversation's page i mentioned must be incredible...
