A Conversation for Talking Point: Television versus Radio

Radio and the United States

For myself, the radio really isn't a means of getting information any longer. Even in terms of music, it's very difficult to find reliable (IE: not media controlled) sources any longer. For the most part in the united states, most of the AM and FM airwaves are controlled by one source now (Clearchannel), and therefore subject to their interpretation of what is out there. I find that if I do want to 'listen to the radio' anymore, I 99 percent of the time tune in my favorite internet station. Which isn't to say that those stations aren't controlled by media outlets, but at least I feel better about it.
