Jodan - you've never heard of the rules because they were created way before your time and you haven't taken part in a battle before or read them. A351866 are the h2g2 laws of continuity, while A496091 shows a better application for battles and the addition of the no controlling other people's character rule which is need for a fair war.

Personally, I think I'm a pretty mainstream hootoo'er and I believe I would have heard of this...
Plus no one can make laws for a website
Anyway, peace treaty is off right now obviously. Let us resume fighting!

The continuity rules to which you continually refer are *not* h2g2 law, they are merely a unedited page of the guide, titled "H2G2 Law of Continuity". They have not been ratified or accepted by anyone other than those who *choose* to adhere to them.
They are *not* referred to under the house rules of h2g2 or the bbc and are, therefore, of absolutely no consequence to anyone who chooses *not* to follow them.

erm, the house rules only refer to things that require moderating, not conevrsation etique!

AK - fancy that! Posted Sep 5, 2003
Personally I think that someone should make a new up to date version of the rules.

If you think that "the house rules only refer to things that require moderating, not conevrsation etique", then you really need to read them, spook, because in the first paragraph it states that we should "Think of them as h2g2's own brand of netiquette".

Oh go argue somewhere else! This is for peace talks, not stirring up trouble.
Anyway, my proposed grounds for an immediate surrender-
-The Thingites will provide aerial support for your next attack
-We stop destroying you
-We don't behead you
And you give us a full surrender
