Just a thought... if the plan really is to go to the science centre and not spend the afternoon in the pub, then how about meeting in the science centre café? The café is accessible without paying admission first, so we can still go in as a group.smiley - smiley If we set a time by which we will definitely go in, then stragglers can either come in and look for us (bound to be a few h2g2 t-shirts around!) or catch up later at the pub. Or is that sounding just a wee bit too organised?smiley - winkeye

Yes. Way too organised. smiley - biggrin

George Square and/or a nearby pub are easier to find for those who don't know Glasgow. Don't forget we have people coming from as far away as... Edinburgh. smiley - erm

smiley - laugh I was thinking that the GSC would be reasonably easy to find (and has a free car park allegedly). Is there any shelter in George Square? Not that the end of October in Glasgow won't be sunny and hot.smiley - cool

Shelter? Well, there's... er... lots of pubs.

We seem to be going round in circles here. smiley - huh

May I suggest a meeting time in George Square (to force me out of the Counting House) followed by a meeting time at the Science Centre Cafe, say half an hour later? That way those who wish to go straight to the Science Centre can and those meeting in the centre of town (for ease of finding) have a reason to get their act together and move pretty quickly. This will require people to turn up on time or be abandoned. Oh, and what is the easiest way to get to the Science Centre from town? Train to the Exhibition Centre and across the bridge?

The SECC route's probably best, even if it does involve riding the scary, scary low-level trains.

We could get the Underground to Cessnock, but that's further away and doesn't let us play on the SECC walkway or the Bells Bridge.

Or the millennium bridge, for that matter. I'd suggest George Sq, the Science Centre is a wee bit tricky to get to if you don't know Glasgow (ok, the tower is easy to see, but getting to it...).

Hmm, I see you are still struggling with that Pub phobia EV. Best get some more practise in I think.
I quite like the above plan, even if I did think of it, we just have to decide on some times now. Suggestions?

I like this 'plan idea'.....

But yeah, good idea to meet in George Square - I'd imagine we're talkign low-level trains from Queen St? Mind you, it's easier to find than Glasgow Central!
