TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Posted Apr 23, 2011
Incidentally, the standard for delimiting web addresses or e-mail addresses in plain text is thus: . In a printed text, it's quite common to put them into a monospace font (in technical documents) or italics (in less technical documents) or blue (in places where office software have automatically inserted hyperlinks and you haven't bothered to take them out again).
Italic would be my preference in this context.

Date Formats
p11 of 258: there is a comma missing from the date of both the Fawcett and the Bobby Sands entries, i.e., "31st July 2009" should be "31st July, 2009", and "3rd September 2009" should "3rd September, 2009".
p99 of 258: line 1 of Rick Rescorla, the date is formatted incorrectly. But maybe for the resonance with 9-11 (and the subsequent memorial on p101) this should stay as is.
p226 of 258: The use of "Month, Year" is inconsistent with the rest of the doucment here. Throught the rest it is either "DDth Month, Year" or "Month Year", cf for example "June 2002" on p25 (of 258), "June 1894" on p159 (of 258) or "July 1966" on p138 (of 258). So maybe "December, 1981" and "June, 1971" should be "December 1981" and "June 1971" respectively to be consistent with others similar.
p226 of 258: The format of the date in footnote 3 is incorrect. "4 December, 1981" shoudl read "4th December, 1981".
More date issues on p252 (of 258) where FrenchBean blogs "September 4th", but a blog is probably exempt.

Dimensions throughout need consistency. I think the guide style guide demands no space. So...
p231/258: "a paint trail 16 km" contains a space.
p240/258: "45 sq miles (116.5 sq km)". Spaces and a new debate about whether "sq" should be "sq."?

While we're on dimensions, p232/258 contains "a small brass plaque mounted on a 10×10cm cube"
A cube needs three dimensions. I suggest either:
(i) "a small brass plaque mounted on a 10cm cube", or
(ii) "a small brass plaque mounted on a 10cm x 10cm x 10cm cube".
The former is crisper.

p160/258: "On the night of 4th - 5th December, 1896". I'd suggest losing those spaces either side of the hyphen.

p16/258: "Holy Sock -an Ontological Dichotomy" should read "Holy Socks - an Ontological Dichotomy".
So there's a "space" and an "s" missing.

p187/258: There is a space missing from after the hyphen before the date under Dmitri's cartoon. Hence "A48563201 -19th March, 2009" should be "A48563201 - 19th March, 2009".

p164/258: The years in footnote 1 are written "1847-1859". I have no beef with this except that if they were consistent with the rest of the document they would be written "1847 - 1859" with spaces.
