I'm not a student but ended up here by accident 6 years back. If this place were in Wales, all you would hear all day would be that tell tale switch to Welsh as soon as you were heard speaking in an English accent. If this town were in West Virginia all you'd here all day would be 'You aint from roun' here Bwooy'.
As for the football team - well - I'm a fan of the 'Big Crunch' theory of the end of the Universe. Middlesbrough FC obviously believe in the 'Eternal Whimper'. One thing's for sure though - the end of the universe will happen nowhere near Middlesbrough. How do I know? Well according to the late great DNA (the site's founder), there's a very good restaurant there.
So how did I react when my 4 year old daughter cheerfully explained to me that she was 'from Middlesbrough'? We're moving back to Sheffield within the year
