Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted May 11, 2011
When I arrived in Rome for xmas and new years it was raining the first day (and the first day only) and i could barely walk from one street corner to the other without being harrased by people wanting to sell me 'umbrella, umbrella'
I thought I'd better bring my own brollie the next time I went out, but did that stop them? Hardly!
Here's hoping you will all have a nice dry weak end

I expect to pack an umbrella. I have various waterproof overcoats, but I had hoped they wouldn't be needed. This was to be the time I packed lightly -- only one suitcase. Don't know if that's going to be possible, but I'll try.

* has landed in the Southern outskirts of central London, around the border between zones 1 and 2*
Installed at hotel, WLAN is working and I've got plenty of free time in front of me The latter is not usual, almost scary. Can't remember when that happened last. Me with time off I mean...

*checking in*
I arrived in Victoria this morning at 5, and I also have my umbrella, so I zill complain VERY LOUDly if we do have rain in spite of all the precautions ze've taken!!
Gaah! Who's stolen my W?
Ah, I see. It's a QWERTY keyboard.
I'm staying in a youth hostel just next door to Saint Paul's Cathedral. Very nice chimes they have there.
National Gallery sounds fine in case of rain, but I'll just () follow the crowd so if people prefer something else, I'm fine with it. It's more about being together, really, isn't it?
.... Even the Tate Modern isn't *that* bad, when you visit it with friends!

London is a huge place. We could have all the H2G2 Researchers at once, and they wouldn't bump into each other unless they wanted to.

I very much doubt that Mme Leggster will have to be encouraged to consume - and that nobody will be able to protect theirs if he is enclined to drink it...

By the way, I don't mind being part of the team to fetch Paulh; do we have a time yet? It might have been said before, but I can't seem to find it.

I'd be easy enough to spot, with a (small) towel in one hand and a knit Dalek(8) in the other...
(*) No, not life-sized.

Kelli, in the afternnoon, (12:01 as Gnomon pointed out), we're having a sightseeing walk from Trafalgar Square, I think it's going down the strand
We're dragging along a couple of non-hootizens with us because it was the only time we could catch up with them, and they have a 3 year old daughter.
