All those skins are lovely. smiley - biggrin

My favourite of all is the sneaky skin. If people are going to sneak peeks at h2g2 at work, this would be the way to go.

Maybe make it look like an Open Source version? smiley - bigeyes

Well done to Tavaron and Malabrista for creating all those skins. smiley - ok

Personally, I wouldn't opt for the noogoo skin. It could be difficult to read, particularly for smiley - senior or other people with poor sight.

I think my favourite is the Filing Cabinet. It looks sort of official, without being too boring. (We don't want casual surfers thinking it's some dreary academic stuff.)

That's the good thing about them - they allow people to customize the site and view it as they want to, rather than shoehorning it into the web policy of a media corporation.

I'm not being anti-BBC, but I just think our objectives are...if not conflicting, at least slightly diverging, as far as site layout goes. smiley - ok

smiley - smiley thanks

I've also got some work or at least thinking to do for you guys at the post.
I think the Post should get a real front page that is more than a usual Entry. Maybe there are reasons against that which I can't see, I don't know.
If there is a Post front page, what should it be like? What should be on it? Is there anything new that The Post should have on the front page?

Good thinking, Tav. smiley - smiley Bel would be the best person to ask, when she gets back from holiday.

My thought would be that a regular fp could have buttons for the boilerplate features like announcements and contact smiley - thepost, and slots to stick our pictures, headers, and article links on.

That would be a lot of work, though. smiley - puff

There was a lot of talk about having a "Community Central" hub. I think there's a case for merging that role with The Post - it's supposed to be a community newspaper, after all. Shouldn't that be the first place one would look to find out what's going on in the community?

In a sense, that's what it's for, and we could make better use of it than we are doing at present. That all takes more participation to make it work, though.

S'cuse me for chipping in here.Just want to appreciate the artists for the creation of these fine skins. A skin for all moods. Nice. Very snaky. Sneaky snaky. heheh. New skins and all that. Is it snakes that can change skins? or is it lizards. I think lizards can grow new tails.

I regret I lack the knowledge and computer-knowhow to contribute to the discussions about the future of h2g2, but I wanted to appreciate the skin-art, and wish all you pioneering folks a fine journey into the new - or noogoo - smiley - rofl times ahead.
