Thank you for your warm welcome. My step-daughter has painfully taken me from ignorance to appretiation of the computer and all the wonders of exploration. This is a fabulous site. You say you are in med school? I have been in the nursing industry for 20 years all surgical.
Finally retiring after several years scrubbing open hearts. What is your discipline? once again, thanks.
as always,
arthur

Hi arthur,
no need to thank me for the welcome, meeting new people is one of the cool parts of this site.

I hope you're moving aroun dthe site ok. The move you move around the move you'll discover. There's lots of strange stuff in here, but a lot of it is really fun.

Anyway, I'm planning on practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. If you're from the U.S., then you may be familiar with PM&R. If you're from the U.K., or elsewhere, there might not be a specialty yet in this field. We coordinate medical care with physical, occupational, and speech therapies (among others). There is a lot of decision making that goes on when a person losses a limb, has a traumatic brain injury, etc. . . I've written an article on it, it's in the editorial process right now, but hopefully soon it'll be on the front page.
OK, well, if you need any help writing for the guide, or want suggestions on other fun places to turn let me know.

PS. I suppose you've been to my Junkyard, my REAL homepage is where you'll end up if you click on my name above the message. . .

Not a big cubs fan.

Prefer the south siders. . .
Actually prefer the Bears (please, no Rams comments, I still think you guys have the Cardinals!).

There is a tavern in Columbia Mo. that is the oldest established business in Columbia. It features pool, snooker and three cushion billiards. Burgers written up in USA TODAY some years ago that made the country's top ten for that kind of fare. At one time no women were allowed. Real brass spitoons and such. Three partners bought the business, all mizzou graduates with degrees in literature (all published poets). They were rabid Cardinal fans. We would book a junket by train from Jefferson City (our capital) when the Cards played the Cubs in Windy. Gawd, debauche of the first rank! My wife works at a tavern in Columbia owned by a fellow, Skip Brumsted (deceased) who was the midwest region manager for Levi Strouss out of Chicago before retiring to open a saloon. Avid gambler, fanatic "DA BEARS" fan I learned to watch a lotta football while building callous on my elbows. Nice to hear from you, tanx.
