Er, I could cloak my ignorance by saying... An average reader might ask... Which war were they erected for? But due to an alarming lack of 
this morning, I'M that average reader 
Nice entry though, very interesting... Strikes me that I hadn't thought of there being any stateside signs of America having been at war then. Makes me wonder how many other reminders there might be?

and yet.... sometimes you go to a thread, and are truly stumped for something original to say, beyond, "nice entry!
