Yay! Wonderful writing, Beatrice! And I can relate. I have never danced naked on stage, but I have ventured into a few similar type situations! I wish I had a tattoo though. Phoenix. Nice. Mind you, I almost fainted having my ears pierced when I was younger, smiley - rofl, so now, as a middle aged lady, I don't think I would be any more confident when facing the tattoo needle. smiley - rofl

As a reader I feel very let-in and warmed by your use of language.

On with the dance! And thankyou.

Thank you thank you *curtsy - fully clothed*

It was an incredible experience, and yes I'm heading to Glasgow this weekend to see it there, and show my support for the brave Glasgow Gals.

fantastic piee - it wasn't like being there but like being there, if you know what I mean?

Brought a few tears to my eyes actually, and I'm not sure why.

Your daughter sounds totally fab, btw. smiley - applause to her for getting the point, even if she couldn't be there.

But I'm totally amazed that more mothers didn't take part - unless they had childcare issues. My experience of childbirth and motherhood is that you tend to have to check in your inhibitions at the door. I'm wondering if you ever actually get them back!!

As for tattoos - yours is fab, they did a great job of it. And I really like what you did and how you did it. Did it hurt a lot?

I'm glad this is getting such a good response. I deliberately wrote it in present tense, even though that's really hard to do, but I think it helped convey the sense of being there, and the rising adrenalin.

Nic, the director said, yes there's usually a few more mothers. Many of the women had serious body issues - one was almost definitely anorexic and I could see scar tissue on her arms.

I read a summary of the whole Belfast Festival yesterday, which mentioned "applauding a bunch of naked women dancing for joy" as one of the highlights.

It would be a big hit in Germany - as you know they get nekkid at the drop of a hat!!

Oh yes, the tat.

Session one was just over 2 hours for the outline. The pain was well within bearable limits. Bits near my waist were almost ticklish, bits near my spine were ouchy, bits on the fleshy part of my bum were almost unnoticeable.

Session 2 was just under 3 hours and I was in agony. That was the colouring in and shading, so involved going over areas several times. Plus I had to sit in a really uncomfortable position.

They do? smiley - bigeyes

I've only ever heard that of the former GDR, and recently about the English Garden in Munich, but it is certainly a strange concept to me.

you are famous for it in the UK, Bel. All that FKK and so on

Bea - you've finally put me off getting a new tat. I was thinking of a coloured one this time but... no.

Gnomon - time to move on

I presume the pain is proportional to the area. Bea's tattoo is large.

but I'm a snivelling girly-girl when it comes to pain. So even something the size of a 1 cent coin would be too much for me

Gnomon - time to move on

Tries to think of a tattoo smaller than a 1-cent coin that might be effective... You could get a smiley: smiley - smiley
