AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
how can "kids" be so slow at times? Its not rocket science...... you take one foot and you kick the other guy, they only have two feet each how can it be so ing difficult to use the correct one at least 50% of the time?
Oh Taekwondo by the way.... not pure breed violence

I'm trying to get my daughter interested in Sci Fi, she's terrified of Dr Who but she's slowly coming round to the idea of SG-1
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted May 20, 2005
She won't sit still long enough, she has a very short attention span, I'll try her with the TV series, she was ok with SG-1 until she got eyeful of the replicators and screamed "SPIDERS" and was gone, never to return

(Mutant, are you allowed to pretend that you are demonstrating and kick them? Had a cub swearing at us on wednesday and werent even allowed to shout at him!)
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
Mutant Posted May 20, 2005
kick them, punch them or throw them around....... yeah just as long as I don't seriously hurt them . It is a martial art and even though I might intimidate them at times (and a few punches and kicks around their precense) I would never hurt them, even though they me off a lot most of them are nice kids (and for some reason none of them are really scared of me.... they must have called my bluff).
But hey just point out the kid to me and I'll give him/her the old "now you do what SB tells you to do or I'll tear your arms off"
and people think I'm evil.... go figure
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
UnfadingAscendant - Above the ashes Posted May 20, 2005
Ahhh, the joy of martial arts. I'm a kickboxer and we get the exact same problem. Last night it took half the lesson just to get the kids present to start moving their feet
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
Mutant Posted May 20, 2005
oh that sounds SOO familair hehe
Don't you just love the conversations that go something like this: "okay you're using your left leg, you are suposed to use your right leg.... no that is still your left leg, use your right leg (points to the right leg)... no that is _still_ your left leg (shows how it is suposed to be done) look how I used my right leg instead of my left leg? Now you try.... no that is still your left leg"

*groans*
Yes, all the time. And punching is worse. No matter how many times they get told they WON'T STOP LEANING INTO THE PUNCHES. (this may just be a kickboxing thing, I've never done Taekwando so I don't know)
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
Mutant Posted May 20, 2005
we do have punches..... but my problem tend to be getting them to actually hit what they are aiming for. They tend to hit a couple of centimeters above their target. They haven't really understood the importence of accuracy (and some of these kids are getting closer and closer to the black belt)
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
UnfadingAscendant - Above the ashes Posted May 20, 2005
I meant the emphasis on punches. I always thought Taekwando focused more on kicks. My fault, sorry.
Screams of rage, terror, anxiety, etc.
Mutant Posted May 20, 2005
