Oh dear
Just heard from Linda - she has just this minute found out that she cannot make it after all.
There is a very good reason for this, so please don't think badly of her. She is just as upset as I am sure the rest of us are.
I will quite understand if any of you decide not to come knowing this unhappy piece of information.

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only attraction Shazz!!
And to stop any rumours that I don't like spreading, I'll start one of my own - I have to have my nose amputated as part of an experiment to do with cloning.
Actually, due to the colossal greatness of the doctors involved, I have to have my nose operated on again. This is the third date I've been given, and they've graciously offered me my birthday.
As you can imagine - I'm kind of sick of having to breath through my mouth, and forever having to carry about a billion tissues around. Oh yes, despite being blocked - it runs all the time.
I was really looking forward to coming to see you all, but I do really need this out of the way. And it means I get two weeks off work again, so who can say no to that?
Sorry to all, especially Shazz, as I know she put a lot of time into organising this mini-meet.

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like Posted May 27, 2002
I'd just like to add my two pence.
I was *really* looking forward to this week-end, and I know that if Linda could find any way *at all* around this problem then we would be there like a shot. I know just how much Linda suffers with this problem, and how angry and disappointed she is that the doctor's didn't get it right the last time.
Thanks are of course due to Shazz for her (as usual) fantastic offer of hospitality, and wizard planning. And to all those of you that showed such enthusiasm for the idea. I know that Linda was truly touched.
I hope you all have a fantastic meet, and I'm sure that we will be trying to impose on Shazz again in the not too distant future...

Marjin, After a long time of procrastination back lurking Posted May 27, 2002
That's a nasty choice they gave you, Linda!
But your health is the most important, and there will be other possibilities.
Although the original reason for the meet has dropped away, the meet must go on. I'll be there as planned.

Yes, I concede that being able to properly breathe *could* be more important than seeing a bunch of ****s
* plans remain fixed * The Meet must go on!

Can't think of anything
I'll ask TM, though - he may like a german sausage or something.
The new Dutch Herring have arrived, so guess what you'll probably be eating on Friday!

Tube - the being being back for the time being Posted May 29, 2002
Yeah, a crate of Wizenbock, I know. I just thought the others would like something as well...
The sausages wouldn't be a problem, but would have to be pre-packaged and not really fresh as I drag them through Europe for nearly two days without refrigiration.
Yum! Fresh !

I think I should unsubscribe from this picnic. It's just too upsetting.
I had to wave J off on my holiday this morning.
