Author: The Fish - (Gnu) - No longer on a bicycle, because some !@%*&£" decided that they were more entitled to it... <grr> - U43536

I don't quite know what happened... but this article "was" in Peer Review. However I came back to it today to find it no longer there, and the "Not for Review" tag ticked... Which I didn't do... smiley - erm

Informing the Researcher seems to be optional. It's the terrible price of smiley - bubbly these days. smiley - smiley

Hmmm..... smiley - erm

Surely it wouldn't be that tricky... All it "should" take would be one posting... and confusion would be avoided...

I mean, I had no way of knowing that my article had been recommended other than you telling me... smiley - sadface

What's even more disconcerting is something that's happened to me a couple of times, when the entry is recommended and sub-edited all within a day or so, but no-one says a word about it.

How to find out:

The entry will appear on your Personal Space under My Most Recent Guide Entries as 'recommended' or, in the extreme case mentioned above, even 'pending'.

Or -
Look for your entry on the What's Coming Up? page www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/comingup

Or -
Do a h2g2 search on the title of your entry. That should show you the new and old entry numbers.

I think you are supposed to get an email from the italics, or a posting from the scout in the PR thread, but this is optional and doesn't seem to happen much these days.

Quite... it's all rather confusing, and nowhere tells you anything like "this is what will happen if your entry is recommended"... smiley - erm

Sorry, just putting your entry in the queue for the Front Page and came across this thread.

Did you not get an email at the address that you registered on h2g2 with? An automated message should have been sent to that address, though if your mailbox is full, or if you've changed your email address, these might be reasons why you did not receive your confirmation.
