Checked the specs - not a great expedition bike, I'd say - as you point out, to complex and too heavy. No-sus steel bikes are best in out-of-the-way places because any blacksmith can mend them - but it sounds like a blast for camping in the woods!

I'm saving up for a Windcheetah tadpole trike.

Ausnahmsweise, wie üblich (Consistently inconsistent)

Hi,

I have a few comments.

"A 27-speed gear set-up, and hydraulic brakes give it incredible deceleration, especially in the wet... "

The 27 gears don't contribute to deceleration. Maybe break this into two sentences?

This, on the other hand, should be one sentence I think. The first doesn't stand alone.

"The suspension set-up is such, that unlike most full suspension bicycles which have a tendency of bobbing or "resonating". This bike doesn't."

Something missing (the word capable?) here.

"The bike is also CAPABLE of tackling hard cross-country routes, and it handles superbly .."

Awu
P.S. I'm looking for a new road bike. I don't do any strict road racing or crits. Just fast group rides, a weekly TT and the odd duathlon. So, it doesn't have to be an out and out tri-athlon bike. Any suggestions? I was thinking of a Guru or a Giant.

Made a few changes... that any better? smiley - smiley

There's a Giant TCR in my local paper for £250, (Original price around £600)... I'd say to go for anything between £200 - £500 personally... Scott and Trek also do some nice Road bikes..... Shop around, as you'll often find someone doing a deal... smiley - biggrin

In the UK there are a couple of smaller bike builders who make some nice machines designed for audax riding, which makes them very comfortable for fast day rides as well. Roberts springs to mind, as does Thorn. There may be specialist builders like this near you - there are few things to copare with the pleasure of a made-to-measure bicycle, I'm told (I have a handbuilt off-the-peg model, and am saving up for a Windcheetah).

I'd make one small change, I'd use a semi-colon and not a full stop in the sentance, and with a footnote. Thus:

Giant's solution to this problem was a joint effort with Renault Sport; NRSNo Resonance System

Also, is it a unique solution? If so, why not say that it is a unique solution.

Thankyou my friend smiley - ok

Look, just cos you have 53 entries... doesn't mean you have to act all knowing... smiley - winkeye
smiley - biggrin

It's the only system that was specifically designed to eliminate resonence, there are many other makes that use a four bar link rear suspension setup... but none seem to talk about resonance... So I could include something about that...

Thanks for the tips. I was expecting to pay $CDN 800-1000. I've seen some Treks and Giants. I want something higher than Sora or Tiagra components.

Awu.
