Don't really know much about it, I'm pretty shure it can be walked both ways and no one will sneer (until you reach milngavie and then its just a natural response from half teh locals) and I know a guy who runs a service that travels backpacks up to waypoints on the route so you don't have to carry a full pack the whole way there. Oh, also there aren't any bunk houses in milngavie but tehre are B&Bs.
