One interesting theory for the lack of anyone aged 16-30 in this area is concerned with the strange appearance of green flasging lights on the nearby golf courses.
While this theory states that lost intergalactic travellers prey on the youth of the town while they are in a inebriated condition, the real reason is that most fall foul of unrelenting boredom and wander off to find something somewhat more interesting to do instead.

Actually, we get out on a technicality. Not wanting to walk the streets at night (For fear of being unintellectually abused, by violence or poor put downs (I once had someone say to me, "Ha ha, you're good at maths" I mean come on) and for lack of a decent pub) we stay in our (or each others) homes. This does not count as my home is now teh embassy for the evil empire off star wars, so it's technically imperial soil. That or we visit friends in alltogether more interesting Glasgow
