Augie: well, the science officer holds general authority over the Engineers, Biologists, and the Rangers and Shipwrights. he coordinates research, communicates it with the captain, and comes up with amazingly resourceful plans in the event of an attack

ok, description: in casual clothes appears to be a fairly scruffy hippy type charcter, on closer inspection however her eyes give the impression of a large amount of intelligence and an understanding of things happening around her. very friendly to everyone, /unless/ you get on the wrong side of her.
