Quick question
Pastey Posted Jul 13, 2002
Er, back to the quick question... surely the shop at the beeb exp. would be a cheap place to buy bbc cds? Or am I being nieve?
Quick question
Abi Posted Jul 13, 2002
You are also discounting the fact that the BBC experience closed two weeks after we visited.
No coincidence!
On the question of the car - I will just ask.

*smashes piggybank with large hammer*
Er......... £4.81½ and a button.

Ooooooh...
*refuses to admit defeat*
£4.81, a button and a shiny bow?
Quick question
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Jul 14, 2002
I'll see your shiny bow, and I'll raise you a piece of chewing gum (unused).
Quick question
Zak T Duck Posted Jul 14, 2002
Hey when did we become an auction site? Can anyone join in?
£4.82, a springboard, two bundles of chopsticks and a tie dye poodle

*looks around*
Er, someone else's tenner, and this here half-full bottle of buckfast. Which isn't mine, honest.
Quick question
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Jul 14, 2002
Blast. I can't top that.
Quick question
DoctorGonzo Posted Jul 14, 2002
Excellent. I've got 2 bottles of Diamond White.
So, I'll see you at the underpass in about, oh, half an hour?
Quick question
DoctorGonzo Posted Jul 14, 2002
I'll meet you in your journal. You'll have to sneak me past the bouncer.
Quick question
Abi Posted Jul 15, 2002
I kind of think Ian was expecting a slighty higher price for the Lotus!
Quick question
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Jul 15, 2002
Oh ok, if you insist!
Right then, £4.82, 2 litres of cider, several botles of Absinthe from Prague, equal amounts of Martini from Brussels and a large bag of Fruit Pastilles...
You drive a hard bargain!
Ooh btw, can you ask Ian if he knows of anywhere one could hire a Subaru WRX as a wedding car
*is all weddingy after Fish's wedding this weekend*
Lotus vs. Hard Bargain
Andrew Wyld [kt:'Burning Pestle', kp:'Mutamems, Ideodiversity', Zaph.] Posted Jul 15, 2002
I drive a hard bargain because the mileage is better.

Abi may have mislead you all. My Lotus is not in fact green. It painted the colour that Lotus describe as "Nautilus Blue". It is, unsurprisingly, blue. (The metallic highlights are a very greeny blue when the sun catches it. But it is fundamentally blue.)
I therefore expect you all to up your bids accordingly.
www.contracthireandleasing.com will give you a list of places that do per-day rental. Having looked at some of the sites none of them are very forthcoming about that, so you'll probably have to phone around. (They web sites are all focussed on 2-3 years lease arrangements. But presumably they'll do per day stuff too.)
Failing that, I guess it would be a case of asking around for people who own one... I can probably lay my hands on a Prodrive Impreza Turbo (old body style). I have a friend who has a grey import WRX (also old body style, and souped up quite a bit - scary vehicle). I'm sure you could find someone with the new one if you looked hard enough - when do you need it for?
