Is there still a copy of 'me' floating about, or should I email a new one to someone?

I've been roped into an Ann Summers party
was really rather hoping to make a Northern Meet, I'd sorted trains and lift back from station and everything!
Could send a rampant rabbit in my stead

With so many luminaries of the FCAMS not available would a change in the date be in order?

Would really like that! Following week, perhaps or maybe fortnight?

But one of the reasons for hastily organising this meet for July 29 was so that Amy the could attend a last Northern meet before she leaves Flat Cap territory and heads for Scotland. I have to say, also, that the first two Saturdays of August are not great for me, especially not the 12th.

I'll try to check on that, but Amy did request the last weekend in July in post #6 in this thread.

In that case I think we should stick to the 29th. Apologies to those who can't make that date, but frankly, when organising meets, there's never a date that suits everyone.
I'll do a preliminary reconnaissance trip tomorrow to look for places to go in Halifax. Especially ones that serve .

OK guys: in view of the general inactivity in this thread, I think it's probably best to call off the Halifax trip. There doesn't seem to be a lot of enthusiasm for the idea, and I don't want to reduce the reputation of the Flat Cap society with a poorly-attended meet that really doesn't work.
Truth to tell, I went over there yesterday and could see some potential difficulties. I still think that the Piece Hall is a place that hootooers would love - it's a lovely historic location with some wonderful shops devoted to stuff like sci-fi, rare books and records, unusual clothes, models, crafts and alternative therapies. There's a fantastic Goth shop with a craft theme; my favourite sight of the day was a sticker reading 'My other car is a broom'. There's a shop entirely devoted to imported exotic and . I saw that and thought that if 2Legs went in there, we'd never get him out.
Trouble is that there's no obvious place to meet. Halifax has a small railway station with only a tiny, messy waiting room and no bar or cafe, and the only pub near the station is a dreadful dump; so it would be awkward if people were arriving over an extended period, which always seems to happen at meets. I called in a few other pubs around the town, but didn't find anywhere that was better than OK, and saw a few that I was keen to leave quickly.
So... maybe that wasn't such a good idea of mine afetr all.

Pity.
But from the sounds of it rescheduling seems the best option particularly with all the conflicting dates.
Piece Hall does sound interesting. What's are the nearest stations up and down the line from Halifax?
Could we perhaps meet at a pub somewhere else then visit Halifax for the outing?

Shame, though I'm still not sure if I'd have been able to make it or not.

It is a shame, but thank you Ormy for suggesting the idea and having a bit of a look round Halifax to check things out
