Clive: the next station to Halifax in one direction is Bradford Interchange. It would be possible to meet in Bradford and go on to Halifax. On the other hand, Bradford itself makes a good meet venue, what with cheap 
and curry and the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, as we have demonstrated once before.
The NMPFT is open on Sundays, so for those who wanted to make a weekend of it we could meet in Bradford on a Saturday, go to Halifax for the afternoon, return to Bradford in the evening for and food, and then sample the many delights of the NMPFT on Sunday. That's if the museum appeals to those who wanted to come, of course, but I think it's rather wonderful. See http://www.nmpft.org.uk/ for some of the reasons why.

bradford definately is one of the best places in england to go for a curry, and the IMAX cinema in the photograpy museum is amazing plus I haves friends I can stay with in Leeds which is only 6 miles or so away so I am up for that
