I wrote this at 2:00 AM when I had some inspiration...I think it is funny, at least it is meant to be funny.

I think this is more of a journal entry than something for peer review (in it's current form at least).
Having said that there are a couple of core ideas which could make a good entry for the edited guide.
for a start, you point out that no matter how good your machine, it is never as good as you would like it to be, or as good as your friends machines.
There is also the point about upgrading your machine, but this is mainly down to badly written bios's and badly written operating systems (I use linux on everything from 386's up, and the only problems that I have are bios limits, and unco-operative manufacturers).
You also make a slightly faulty point as well. you say that once the machine is a few years old, scrap it. As I say, I use older machines where they are good enough, leaving me with a total computing facility that is better than some small schools have.
(I am even still using old (mid 1980's) bbc micro's for some tasks, for which they are better suited than modern pc's.
One man's trash is another mans treasure, so don't be so quick to write off older equipment just because you can't play the latest games on it, or add the latest piece of fad hardware to it.

I must agree with both of the above comments. (My computer is at least 5 years old, is slow, but gets there in the end.)
You probably aren't aware, but entries are not meant to be made in the first person.
I'm sure you can do the business with this entry to incorporate the points made so far and to abide by the guidelines.
If you need any help, just shout!

Aye - this entry is about one obsolete PC - it would need to be about obsolete PCs in general.
I'm also not happy with the 'fast women' analogy.
