This weeks film (lol)..The Others
..my rating 7/10

The Others was a good film,but although it was creepy..and had a couple of good jumpy bits it wasnt actually scary .
A good astmosphere is maintained throughout,and the parts are well played. By the middle of the film when yu start to think you know what the big twist it, it starts to feel a little predictable..but this is just a ruse,as there is a bigger completly nexpected twist(for me anyway)at the end.
Its well worth a watch ,but if youre looking to be actually scared rent Jeepers Creepers instead! ..lol

Its set in 1945.Grace (Nicole Kidman)lives in a big ole house in the country with her 2 children who are exytremely photosensitive so have to be kept in the dark all the time.
Her husband is away in the war.They get some new servants around the time u find out that the children have been seeing/hearing creepy things.It gets creepier till even the mother believes there are people in the house..but who..or what..are the intruders?

Maybe i`ll watch it sometime. Even if Nicole Kidman is in it

To be honest I don't know. I just get a strange vibe from her. Which is weird because the first movie I saw her in (I think it was called Overboard or something) I thought she was great.

Maybe it's the red hair?

It`s that annoying voice of hers as well. She`s got an attitude i really don`t like either.

Isn`t Overboard the one with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell?

Weird ones are good,lol as are thrillers etc. Ive not seen a really good thriller in ages,last one that was o was along came a spider ,best one in years was The Bone Collecter.

Well i watched "Memento" yesterday. It stars Guy Pearce. He plays a character called leonard who has no short term memory. He can remember everything about his life up until "the incident" which causes his short term memory loss. He can`t make any new memories.

The plot is that he is out to get revenge. He wants to find who did this to him, and killed his wife, and make them pay. It sounds like your run of the mill storyline but it`s not.

The film starts with one scene and then works it`s way to reveal what has happened and how he`s come to that point. It keeps you guessing as to who the bad guys really are. I was gripped by it. I found myself thinking how hard it would be to go through life like that. Never being able to remember who you`ve already met and what you`ve already done. Even simple things like where you parked the car become huge problems.

It`s a well directed film with good performances from all the cast. Although he was only in a few short scenes, i personally enjoyed seeing Callum Keith Rennie. I give this flick a 9/10 and will probably end up buying it. I`m sure i`ll catch lots of bits i`ve missed when i watch it again.

As a hidden extra on the dvd, you can watch the film in reverse order. I suggest that you watch it the way it was intended before you do this but am sure it will be just as interesting to watch.

I remember seeing the trailers for that one,hes got tattoos everywhere that are clues hasnt he?.. ill probably get round to watcching it eventually..sounds like it might be quite good.

Yeah` he`s covered in tattoos. Even has ones that are backwards so that he can read them when he looks in the mirror.

OK, it wasn't Overboard, but it was on a boat.

The crack about the red hair was because a redhead that I was dating turned psyco on me about the same time I started disliking Kiddman.

Memento sounds great. Can't believe I never heard of it before.

What is Along Came a Spider about? Is that with Keono Reaves?

Along came a Spider is based on the book that was before Kiss The Girls ,dont know if uve seen the film of that one but it was briliant.
In both Morgan Freeman plays detective and psychologist Alex cross.Along came a spider is a really good kidnap thriller with lots of twists!
Like when u realise that the kidnpped girl has been kidnapped from the kidnapper!and its nother theyre really after but using her to get to someone else.you dont know who the "baddies"really are till tthe last minute,and definatly DONT see it coming!

It is good, but no where near as good as Kiss The Girls, which came out as film first but was the 2nd book .
I do like a good thriller..almost as much as i like a good horror..lol
