What a difficult question. My first impulse is to say, will it every be? It feels more of a conversation than an entry. I haven't contributed! (I'm sure that's what many people will think on seeing it.)

It will be interesting to see what others think.

It was originally an article for Area 42, which seems to have fallen through. And because so many people posted their ideas, and there are so many of these 'how did you...?' threads, I thought a Guide entry would be a good idea

Nice to see another entry making it's way from the CWW - even if this one didn't pick up too much stuff from there.
Oh, there's a thread from 'CatWoman' that you've not included... dunno if deliberate.

It's good stuff, certainly, and I think it's a lovely idea. Best of luck!

Hmm... I'm not sure whether this ought to go into the Edited Guide. Looks somewhat like a 'history' or 'we about us' entry

I don't get any general trends from what is included, nor do they seem to be grouped in that way. Anthology without commentary is a peculiar entry construction: In what way would this be an Edited Entry?

One reason would be that it was originally intended for Project 42, but seeing as that's kinda died down and it's such a recurring conversation, I thought it would be a good idea to gather a wide range of comments.

Maybe it's not in the normal style of things, but neither are a lot of entries.

I am not familiar with Project 42. Can you tell me about it? I don't know if doing so here is sinbinnable, so you are welcome to post on my page.

I agree, that the type of entry that makes it into the Edited Guide doesn't need to be Vogon-dry or particularly Encyclopedia-like in order to meet all of the Editing Guideline requirements.

And I myself am not particularly normal.

How about adding things to this entry that clue people into what it's about, and inserting subheaders that describe the drift of thought?

There's a thought - I didn't know whether to put in subheaders, you know, people who found h2g2 through the net, friends, etc. I wanted to see what the reaction would be here. I'm definitely considering it though!

I don't think this is EG material because you will want to add too it continually. Maybe you could persuade ACEs to tell new users about it, easier for them to remember than for us. ( I signed up the day after DNA launched it, having seen the 2nd half of the launch)
