Like Sylvia, I spotted the smiley - fish on Altavista and followed the links... As a student, I had heard other students quoting the Guide, then did nothing about it until a several years later. I was in Washington D.C. and spotted the Guide - four books in one volume, on a _sale_ (can you believe it!?!?). It was bound in black leather, with golden print on the cover, and gilded edges of the pages, and even a red bookmark ribbon. Could easily be taken to be a bible. And of course, I was hooked. It is now one of my most prized possesions. The book, I mean, the Guide is more of an obsession...

For the last couple of years, I've been working on a lab data system project, and to my delight most of the project team are DNA fans! We even seriously tried to name the project PANIC (Pharmaceutical and ANalytical Information Computersystem) but sadly management refused. (we even had the tag line 'Have no fear') The system now goes under the bland "CLIO", with nothing behind it to make it a witty acronym.

I am beginning to ramble, so I'll stop now.
