Race...in my opinion, the concept of 'race' is an illusion. The fact that 'interracial' couples can have viable offspring is a pretty big hint. Again, this is my opinion, but it seems to me that 'race' is just an artificial excuse for people to hate one another.

We also have hybrid vigour - very little chance of serious genetic disorders, because we are so out-bred. I, however, have inherited a deeply Chinese disorder, since I'm allergic to alcohol...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
disaster!
actually, it's not that bad, there are worse things you could be allergic too. i suppose it is difficult in restaurants and stuff cos they always put it in the food. but at least you are not allergic to wheat and milk and didnt eat meat like a girl i know at college.

Yeah! I know one girl who's had tons of boyfriends, and she's got one black parent, and one white parent. She ends up looking like a white girl with a really nice tan, and that effect, surprisingly, looks gorgeous. :D

The whole thing about racism that people miss is that it is not
possible. Sure people have prejudices etc. - but there is only
one race! The human race...

Common misconception, my friends. I'm mixed race and I'm certainly not what you would call pretty...
As for the alcohol - when alcohol is heated above about 40 degrees centigrade, it evaporates - so there's no problem with cooked food. It's actually an enzyme deficiency - I can't break it down nearly as quickly as other people would, but I break it down eventually - just not as quickly as would be required to drink.

There was something on TV a while ago about Chinese people being less resistant to alcohol. I think it's something to do with a culture of tea-drinking rather than alcohol drinking.
Interestingly, people from more norther countries (e.g scadanavia, UK) tend to drink more than people from countries nearer the equator...

Yep, don't have any problem with most comments here, and as has been pointed out, for genetic and health reasons mixed-race relationships are good.
BTW notice how there seems to be a lack of right wing, BNP style people in these convs. prob just 'cos they would be censored out anyway.

Oh Abi, you flatterer...
I don't know - h2g2 seems to be a pretty liberal minded place - well, generally speaking. Those who I've met here who *are* very right wing, I doubt that they would want to lower themselves to our level.

Yes, although the WWIII talking point attracted a few quite right wingers...

Sounds like a load of footbalers, well you know what I mean. I thin what Abi was trying to say (correct me if I'm wrong) is that everyone's beautiful at least in his/her eyes, regardless of race.
