How about when they take away all the best bits of a series and then recast main actors, major characters don't return or it goes completely weird?
Examples include:
Battlestar Galactica - turning into Galactica 1980
Buck Rogers In The 25th Century - became too child friendly and what happened to Twiki's voice?
SeaQuest DSV - It was rubbish, and SeaQuest 2032 was rubbish. No real change.
